Partnership integrates lab data with LTC-based EHR

MatrixCare, a leading provider of electronic health records for the long-term care and senior living market, has entered into a partnership agreement with LabSoft, a leading provider of laboratory software solutions.

According to a press release, this partnership will enable MatrixCare to leverage LabSoft's integration engine so that lab data can be delivered to MatrixCare's cloud-based EHR in real time.

This partnership also brings together two healthcare powerhouses. MatrixCare's EHR is now used in more than 5,500 care settings, while LabSoft's integration solutions are used in over 700 diagnostics, molecular, anatomical pathology and toxicology laboratories. In addition, LabSoft's certified medical laboratory technicians will be available to consult with MatrixCare's staff and its customers.

"The availability of lab values as discreet data elements in the MatrixCare EHR is a key component of our clinical decision support solutions, Clinical Coach and Clinical Guardian," said John Damgaard, MatrixCare's president and CEO. "These powerful decision support tools, embedded directly into the MatrixCare clinical workflows and using current lab values and other resident data combined with evidence-based clinical protocols, are critical to the efforts of long-term care providers to provide high quality, cost-effective care for the growing population of seniors.”
