Partnership offers mobile communications built for LTC

Brookfield, Wis.-based RF Technologies has announced a partnership agreement with EnGenius Technologies, Costa Mesa, Calif., that will expand the availability of communication products and services for the long-term care (LTC) industry.

Under terms of the agreement, EnGenius, a provider of networking and telecommunications solutions, will become a value-added reseller of the EnGenius DuraFon PRO Phone Solution, a product developed by RF Technologies.

Designed specifically for LTC environments, the phone handset that doubles as a pager, allows for secure two-way radio functionality and has a range of up to 250,000 square feet.

"Our customers have told us over the years about the inconvenience of staff having to carry a phone, pager and walkie-talkie," said Paul Larson, vice president of technology for RF Technologies in a press release. "Now we can provide all of that functionality in a single handset."

Doug Hayter, manager of business operations for EnGenius Technologies, added, "The EnGenius DuraFon PRO products are a great fit for inside senior living communities and even the surrounding outside grounds, because their extended range and reliability enable staff to maintain communications throughout the facility, allowing them to shorten response times and improve customer service. The ability of the system to receive pages from Code Alert Wandering Management and Nurse Call systems provides an added capability that will further enhance response times and improve efficiencies."
