Leading EHR to integrate wound management solution

In an effort to improve wound care through the expanded use of electronic health records, MDI Achieve Inc. and Telemedicine Solutions LLC, Inc., the provider of WoundRounds, announced on October 23 that they have formed a strategic partnership.

By bringing together MatrixCare, one of the fastest-growing and certified EHRs in the long-term care industry, with a leading solution for wound management and risk prevention,  both companies hope that providers will now be able to efficiently and effectively deliver high-quality wound care by leveraging the strengths of both products. “The integration of MatrixCare and WoundRounds ensures that important clinical data from the wound care process is populated in the EHR, where it can be leveraged to improve the coordination of care and to drive clinical decision support,” said MDI Achieve President and CEOJohn Damgaard in a company press release.

WoundRounds’ CEO Mike Diamond added: “Integrating WoundRounds with MatrixCare delivers a powerful solution for post-acute facilities to provide the best possible patient care with reduced costs and risk.”

The WoundRounds integration into the MatrixCare EHR will be achieved by using the newly introduced MatrixCare Connections program which will formally certify  the interoperability between MatrixCare and third-party systems and service organizations, thus ensuring the integrity of information flows that often include protected health information. The program uses an open, cloud-based platform that allows the integration of third-party applications, systems and devices so that providers can aggregate data from across the LTPAC continuum into the MatrixCare cloud-based EHR.
