Giving a hug to caregivers

Richmond, Va.-based Lift Caregiving announced last week that it has launched a hug feature for users of its Care Lounge, a virtual support community for family caregivers.

While Care Lounge is a free website that provides caregivers the opportunity to ask questions of other caregivers and community experts and to give each other moral support, the new hug feature extends that support in a more personal way.

In a press release announcing the hug feature, Ted Ukrop, co-founder of Lift Caregiving said, "Caregivers often feel isolated and lonely. Having access to an online support community is very helpful in lessening isolation and loneliness. The hug feature is an additional way that Care Lounge members can reach out and support another caregiver."
