ACC expands cardiology clinical guidelines app

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has released an expanded version of its Guideline Clinical App.

Version 2.0, which is available for Apple or Android tablets or smartphones, contains the full set of prevention guidelines originally released by the ACC and the American Heart Association in 2013, including the addition of healthy lifestyle and obesity guidelines.

The ACC launched the first version of its Guideline Clinical App in 2014 and included guidelines for assessing cardiovascular risk, as well as the treatment of blood cholesterol, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and valvular heart disease.

As with the earlier version, the new app also includes an executive summary and the top 10 points for each guideline, as well as a collection of interactive tools such as dosing calculators, scoring tools and algorithms useful to clinicians in determining recommended care.
