A business case for palliative care goes online
The California State University Institute for Palliative Care has designed an online course to help administrators and clinicians make the decisions needed to balance the clinical and business sides of palliative care.
The course, set to launch August 18, is designed for administrators, palliative care professionals and clinical leaders and will offer education and tools for determining the business case for effective palliative care programs.
"A serious business evaluation of the benefits and challenges of a palliative care program will ultimately benefit the organization and those they serve," said Helen McNeal, executive director of the institute, in a press release. "It is important that clinicians and administrators understand the financial analysis behind an effective palliative care program and how their program can demonstrate its value."
