New home care ventilator hits the market

Sweden-based Breas Medical has announced that its Vivo 50 ventilator is now available in the United States.

The unit features the company's eSync technology, which synchronizes smoothly with the resident's breathing effort and also provides a mechanism to customize treatment. It is equipped with both a four-hour internal battery and eight-hour click-on battery, FiO2, SpO2 and EtCO2 monitoring solutions and a full-color screen for easy reading and setting of parameters.

According to the company's website, the Vivo 50's low noise level makes it ideal for home use and its range-specific settings allows residents to adjust parameters within the limits set by their physicians.

This ventilator also is equipped with multiple built-in alarms and includes a data capture feature that can store a full year's worth of treatment data for download onto a memory card or for online analysis by a physician.
