Managed Health Care Associates Acquires Tidewater GPO from Omnicare

Managed Health Care Associates, Inc., a healthcare service company, has acquired Tidewater Group Purchasing from Omnicare, Inc., for an undisclosed amount, according to a company release.

“We have clearly stated our intentions to become the largest [group purchasing organization] servicing long-term care facilities, with a plan to achieve this through both organic growth and acquisitions,” said Doug Present, CEO of Managed Health Care Associates. “We also intend to compete for this market by offering our members the best contract pricing, exceptional customer service, superior analytic tools, and complete pricing transparency.”
