DESIGN Awards announced at EFA, designers inspired through personal experiences

I’ll make this one short, as I’ve posted more info and photos about the DESIGN Awards as a news item, found here.

But I do want to say how many attendees, including some of those accepting DESIGN Citations of Merit, have been personally inspired to achieve the upmost quality in the built environment for the aging. I’ve heard presenters and attendees tell about their own experiences with their mom or dad–watching them live their final phase of life in an out-dated and undignified care setting.

But it is these people who have great vision for the new paradigm, the new school of elder care. And it looks like they have the willpower, energy, research, and a healthy sense of collaboration to get there.
