Long-Term Living named finalist for 4 ASBPE awards
The editors of Long-Term Living are proud to announce that four of our submitted articles/blogs have been named as finalists in the 2015 American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) awards competition for editorial and design efforts. Two of the brand’s entries earned finalist status at the national and regional levels, and two more earned finalist status at the regional level.
The following are headed to the winner’s circle:
- A set of three blogs (“Stroke? Think FAST,” “The shock of elder abuse in assisted living,” and “Battling Ebola and other threats, wherever we are”), by Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers, is a finalist entry at both the national and regional levels in the Blog – How-to Tips/Service category. The educational blogs addressed how to recognize the signs of stroke, how to prevent or stop abuse of residents and how to thwart the spread of Ebola and the flu.
- An article titled “Project Survival 101: Managing refurbs and expansions” by Editor-in-Chief Pamela Tabar is a finalist at the national and regional levels in the Case History category. The content explored the challenges of getting providers, architects and residents to work together during major renovation projects.
- A feature titled “2015 Business Outlook” by Bowers is a regional finalist, Heartland Region, in the Feature Article – General Interest category. The piece discussed six critical business challenges facing the industry in 2015.
- An article titled “Beyond Bingo” by contributor Ron Rajecki also is a regional finalist, Heartland Region, in the Feature Article – General Interest category. The article, which explores the changing roles of activity professionals, was one of Long-Term Living’s most popular of 2014, and it was tops among the brand’s Facebook friends for the year.
The ASBPE awards, also called the AZBEES, serve as recognition of the best content in each of the country’s eight regions, as well as nationally. The competition, which is open to any business-to-business media brand, offers categories covering many aspects of publishing, from feature articles and blogs to graphic design and digital publishing.
The award levels in each national finalist category will be announced at the ASBPE awards banquet in July in New York City. In most categories, a gold, silver and bronze award are given. Regional awards will be presented at the local chapter level.
