Website offers state survey reports on LTC facilities to consumers

Marketing photos of landscaped lawns and happy seniors enjoying a meal in the dining room may not be the most accurate depiction of life at some assisted living centers, memory care facilities or other senior housing communities.

ChipperList, a website that provides information, photos and reviews of long-term care facilities in the San Diego, Calif., area is now putting summaries of these state reports into an easy-to-navigate location on its site. Also included is a graph showing violations that were recorded over the past two years.

"Each year, one in four facilities commits a serious violation where someone suffers from serious harm or neglect," notes a ChipperList press release. "State officials document these violations in highly detailed and complex inspection reports. Unfortunately, the average person does not know how to find these reports, or even know that they exist."

The company is now attempting to raise $22,000 through crowdfunding to expand its coverage of state reporting in San Diego and Los Angeles County.
