South Florida pharmacy fills meds ahead of Hurricane Irma

One pharmacy is picking up speed as Hurricane Irma makes her way to Florida.

Progressive Care Inc., based in southern Florida, delivered more than 3,000 prescriptions this week to make sure patients have medicine during the storm.

“This company has always committed to serving the community,” says CEO S. Parikh Mars in a press release. “Our staff has called thousands of patients and providers to make sure that people are safe and that they have the medications they need. We want to remind everyone in the path of the storm to take their medications with them if they are evacuating their home and to keep their medications close to them wherever they are. After the storm passes, we will be here to lending a helping hand to anyone we can.”

The company’s facilities are not in a flood or evacuation zone and have hurricane impact windows. The company has taken precautions to safeguard equipment, medications and files so it can continue serving the community.

Progressive Care Inc, through its subsidiaries Smart Medical Alliance, Inc. and PharmCo, LLC, is a provider of prescription pharmaceuticals, compounded medications, the sale of anti-retroviral medications, medication therapy management (MTM), the supply of prescription medications to long term care facilities, administration and practice management, utilization management, quality assurance, EHR Implementation, billing and coding, and health practice risk management.
