Seniors can’t stop dancing to Justin Timberlake
Some folks can’t stop the feeling, so they just dance, dance, dance. And they certainly can’t stop listening to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”
Santa Marta Retirement Community released its own video, “‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ at 93 Years Old (a Justin Timberlake parody).”
The Olathe, Kans., retirement community hired a marketing firm to produce the video to bring attention to the facilities. Residents and staff can be found grooving in the dining hall, hair salon, bar, gym, greens, pool, kitchen and hallways grooving to the catchy summer beat. The video has been watched more than 32,000 times since it was posted June 9.
Local Fox affiliate WDAF interviewed some of the featured residents.
“I was asked just to come and dance. Dance and sing to a brush,” says Judi Stradinger, who can be seen in the salon. “I thought that will be an odd thing, but I like to dance so that’s how I got in it.”
Some weren’t familiar with Timberlake, but they know how to jive to a good beat when they hear one.
“I thought, ‘This is a happy day.’ I really like to dance,” says Marjorie Riley, who can be seen in the library playing chess. “I haven’t danced a lot in the last few years, but I used to dance a lot when I was young.
