Pace steps down from Advancing Excellence, joins Alzheimer’s Association

Douglas Pace has stepped down as executive director of the Advancing Excellence in Long-Term Care Collaborative and will take over as the Alzheimer’s Association’s director of dementia care services and support, according to an email from Advancing Excellence.

Pace is a well known force in long-term care innovation, advocacy and policy-making. He has been associated with LeadingAge for more than 14 years, served as executive director of the Long-Term Quality Alliance and ran the Tennessee Association of Homes and Services for the Aging in the late 1990s.

Pace also is an active proponent of long-term care health informatiojn technology and is a frequent speaker at the annual Long-Term Post-Acute Care Health IT Summit.

“Doug's visionary leadership and able management brought new members and solidified multiple partnerships that continue to drive our mission to make nursing homes better places to live, work and visit," the Advancing Excellence communique stated.

Pace’s replacement has not been named; Advancing Excellence will be conducting a search process to fill the position.
