‘Car Talk’ co-host dies from complications of Alzheimer’s

Tom Magliozzi, who with his brother, Ray, hosted the "Car Talk" NPR radio show and authored a syndicated newspaper column delivering automobile-related advice and humor, died this morning from complications of Alzheimer's disease, NPR is reporting. He was 77.

The Magliozzi brothers began their show in 1977 at a Boston radio station and took it nationwide a decade later, according to NPR. Reruns have been airing since 2012, when the brothers announced their retirement.

"Car Talk" Executive Producer Doug Berma notes that, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association or donors' favorite public radio stations.
