Makers of BCAT launch online brain health program

The creators and maintainers of the Brief Cognitive Assessment Tool (BCAT) System have launched a new online program focusing on brain-healthy activities and risk-reducing lifestyle. The ENRICH Brain Health Program includes a free risk calculator and (paid) online versions of the BCAT cognitive function test and the Self-Assessment of Cognition (SAC) tool. If the person’s risk score is moderate to severe, the site provides additional patient information on corrective activities or actions.

The program is designed to help physicians and other caregivers explain how choices can affect the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. The ENRICH acronym includes the six points of a brain-healthy lifestyle:  exercise, no smoking, routine cognitive stimulation, improving mood, controlling hypertension and healthy weight.
