Elsevier, NADONA/LTC team up to offer online training class

Elsevier and the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA/LTC) are working together to develop Mosby’s Care Assistant Curriculum.

The online course is scheduled to launch in 2016 and will serve as a resource for training new nursing hires, transitioning personnel to new units, addressing knowledge gaps and preparing for annual competency testing.

"Now more than ever with our facilities experiencing transitions of care, higher acuities of those under our care, and the need for our staff to be not only trained but produce exceptional specialty care to a wide array of residents/guests and their well-informed and educated families, addressing the gaps in training, knowledge and competency testing is not only essential but imperative," said Sherrie Dornberger, RN, CDONA, CDP, CADDCT, GDCN, FACDONA Executive Director of NADONA/LTC, in a press release

The course will also help facilities, organizations and agencies comply with related accreditation and regulatory standards and offer their care assistants an opportunity to earn continuing education units.
