AHRQ releases patient safety training program for LTC

A new training program, “Improving Patient Safety in Long-Term Care Facilities,” aims to improve the way resident conditions are monitored and reported. The three-part program, released this week by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), includes sessions on detecting changes in residents’ conditions, communicating changes that might impact patient safety and reducing falls. Detailed sections discuss what types of changes merit very close monitoring and/or reporting to an administrator.

The training program. AHRQ released the free program to help LTC caregivers foster a resident-centric environment while improving fall management and reducing medical errors.

The AHRQ training modules are available on AHRQ’s website.
