Welltower Announces Promotions, Including New CIO
Welltower Inc. (NYSE: WELL) has announced the promotion of several employees, including naming a new chief investment officer after eliminating the position last year.
The real estate investment trust (REIT) promoted Shankh Mitra to executive vice president and CIO from his previous position as senior vice president of investments. The move reflects Mitra’s responsibility for the company’s acquisition and investment activity as well as his oversight for Welltower’s expanded asset management function.
Additionally, Welltower promoted current vice president Tim McHugh to the role of senior vice president of corporate finance, and named Tim Lordan as a senior vice president and corporate treasurer. Rich Hansen is also taking on on expanded responsibilities as vice president of asset management.
The promotions are part of a new organizational structure in Welltower’s corporate finance and asset management departments that are intended to support the growth of the company’s health care real estate portfolio.
Brookdale Appoints New Independent Board Member
Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) recently appointed health care executive Rita Johnson-Mills to its board of directors as an independent member. Brookdale’s board now stands at eight directors, seven of whom are independent.
