Thirty-one facilities in receivership after missed payroll
Ten assisted living facilities and 21 nursing facilities have been placed in receivership after the facilities' owner failed to pay its employees, according to a press release from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and posted to Nebraska TV.
Receiverships place facilities in the custodial care of another company in situations where a company cannot meet its financial obligations.
The facilities are owned by Cottonwood Healthcare LLC, known as Skyline, which is headquartered in New Jersey. The receiverships were ordered after Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson filed court proceedings seeking receiverships at the request of Courtney Phillips, the Chief Executive Officer, of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The facilities were placed in receivership with Klaasmeyer & Associates of Omaha, the appointed Receiver.
