CAST launches selection tool for telehealth/remote monitoring systems

LeadingAge’s Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) has launched a new selection tool to help long-term and post-acute care organizations choose the right telehealth and remote patient monitoring technology for their needs.

The Telehealth Selection Matrix compares the nearly 200 features and capabilities of 23 products from 16 vendors. As new product lines develop, more vendors will be added to the matrix. CAST also published a new whitepaper, Telehealth and Remote Patient Monitoring for Long-Term and Post-Acute Care, as an aid for providers in planning telehealth initiatives and a guide for how to review different types of available technology.

“These tools will simplify the process of planning for, identifying and selecting telehealth and remote patient monitoring products,” says Majd Alwan, Ph.D., LeadingAge senior vice president for technology and executive director of CAST. “We’ve organized all the information needed in one place.”

The telehealth matrix is the second technology selection tool from CAST, which launched its Electronic Health Record Selection Matrix in 2012.
