Long-term, post-acute care companies support Gay Games

Long-term and post-acute care-related companies are in the spotlight as the international Gay Games are held in Cleveland this week. At least three businesses with ties to older adults are supporting the events along with health systems, care providers and others sponsors.

NovaCare Rehabilitation, based in King of Prussia, Pa., is a “Rainbow Orange” level sponsor.

“NovaCare Rehabilitation is proud to support the 2014 Gay Games in Cleveland by providing athletic training services at many of the venues,” the company told Long-Term Living. “A community-based provider of outpatient physical rehabilitation, NovaCare’s sports medicine program is designed to meet the physical demands of all athletes and abilities. NovaCare Rehabilitation’s highly trained clinical team encourages our diverse patient population to take an active role in their well-being and promotes healing and recovery in a compassionate environment.”

Seniors housing and care provider Judson, based in Cleveland, is a “Rainbow Blue” level sponsor.

The sponsorship is an extension of the spirit that Judson residents, staff, volunteers and board members share at its communities and in the greater Northeast Ohio community, Judson notes on its website. “Residents appreciate Judson’s open and inclusive atmosphere, which is all about creating connections and community, learning from each other’s collective experience,” according to the site. Residents Bill and Mark Corcoran, for instance, have lived at Judson Manor since 2012 and say they have been “warmly welcomed and affirmed” there.

Tridia Hospice, based in Columbus, Ohio, with multiple locations around the state, is a “Rainbow Indigo” level sponsor.
