Riverdale Terrace has the atmosphere of a small European hotel, which encourages resident choice and fosters a sense of control and autonomy. The spacious environment respects individual privacy and encourages social participation, and the full continuum of services assists residents in remaining in the community for as long as feasible. The building is conveniently located in a busy neighborhood, within walking distance of shops, theater, library, post office and banks. Several places of worship are also available.

Riverdale Terrace is an enriched-housing building on “Main Street.” Individuals are offered secure apartment units with bath and full kitchen facilities where they can prepare meals or entertain family and friends. Residents may choose to join others in the main dining room or eat in their own apartments. When an individual desires socialization, he/she may join a discussion group in the community room, participate in a tai chi program or individual exercise in the wellness area, converse in the lobby, socialize on the patio or engage in a game of cards in the “pub” area. When privacy is preferred, the library is an ideal spot for quiet intellectual pursuit.

The concierge is a central annex for communicating with and providing assistance to the residents. Its design is open and inviting, and it houses the intercom and emergency system for every apartment, as well as closed-circuit television to enhance security.

The spacious common areas allow staff to participate with the residents in their many recreational programs and festivities.
