ALFA launches Senior Living 2025 initiative

The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has launched a new initiative, Senior Living 2025: A Roadmap, to establish a united voice around four major issues facing the industry:

  1. workforce development—increasing standards of employee excellence and ensuring high quality
  2. quality care—promoting a better quality of life through technology and services
  3. operational excellence—determining best practices for employee onboarding, technology implementation and professional development, and
  4. consumer choice—addressing the challenges of long-term services and supports by playing a role in how people finance needs in their later years.

Assisted_Living_Federation_of_America_RoadmapAs part of the initiative, ALFA representatives will embark on a six-month “listening tour” to hear the concerns of senior living stakeholders and develop principles to act as a roadmap of strategies to address them, ALFA President and CEO James Balda told those attending the opening session of the group’s annual meeting in Tampa, Fla. New York, Wisconsin, Arizona and Kentucky will be the first stops on the tour.
