Mark Hagland became Editor-in-Chief of Healthcare Informatics in January 2010. Prior to that, he had been a Contributing Editor, then Senior Contributing Editor, to the magazine for over a decade.
He has spent over two decades in healthcare publishing. In the course of his healthcare publishing career, has won numerous national and regional journalism awards, and is the author of two books on healthcare quality and efficiency, and is a sought-after speaker.
John Damgaard is President of MDI Achieve. Damgaard has an exceptional record in healthcare technology solutions and has a comprehensive background in various areas including client services, healthcare software solutions development, interoperability, sales, and marketing.
Prior to MDI Achieve, Damgaard was Chief Operating Officer at Mediware Information Systems Inc. and also held business management and technical positions with CGN and Associates, Maytag Corporation, and IBM.
Damgaard earned an MBA from Bradley University and a Bachelor of Arts of Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa.

Deborah Franklin has twenty-nine years of experience making a difference in the lives of the elderly. During that time she has operated skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities and retirement communities. She is currently the Director of Operations of Florida Living Options, a not-for-profit company operating retirement communities consisting of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Out-patient Rehabilitation, Adult Day Care, memory support and Senior Fitness Centers. She has been with her current company for almost twenty years.
Deborah is Past-President of Florida Health Care Association and member of Our Florida Promise. She is the recipient of the Circle of Excellence award, Art Harris Legislative Award, Administrator of the Year, American Health Care Association’s Future Leader and her company’s President Award. She was appointed by the Senate President to serve on the Department of Elder Affairs Advisory Board and she also served on the Hillsborough County Health Care Advisory Council. Deborah was also on Governor Scott’s Transition Team for Department of Elder Affairs.
Tonya J. Wacaster, RN

Tonya J. Wacaster, RN has been a nurse since 1992. She has over 23 years of experience in long term care/skilled nursing. Areas of skilled nursing have been C.N.A., Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse, Staff Development Coordinator and Director of Nursing. She has served the last nine years as a Nurse Consultant with Peak Resources, Inc. with a focus on MDS/Casemix/Care Planning. Tonya graduated from Cleveland Community College in 1992 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and from Gardner Webb University in 1995 with Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing.
