The 2013 Remodel/Renovation competition is open to ALL readers, including architects, interior designers, and facilities wishing to highlight their latest projects. Submissions are now closed.
Submissions for 2013 were accepted under the category of Destinations. This includes, but is not limited to, spaces intentionally designed and/or programmatic points of interest, such as a “main street,” “town center,” or “community square,” shopping venues, beauty/barber shops, chapels, theaters, cafes/eateries/pubs, spas, gardens, etc. Participants in this category were asked to include a plan that illustrates where the space is located in relation to residents’ houses/apartments/rooms, and explain the way(s) in which they may be accessed by residents.
A panel of experts appointed by SAGE, The Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments, is reviewing and evaluating all submissions and will identify the Top projects submitted. The Top projects will then be posted online at www.environmentsforaging.com for reader voting and comments. The project with the most reader votes will be named Best in Show and will be published, along with the runners-up, in our Fall 2013 edition of Environments for Aging. Check back on this page and in our weekly e-newsetter later this month for information on voting.
Awards will be presented at the 2014 Environments for Aging Conference.
