Widow says Robin Williams lived with Lewy Body Dementia

More than a year after his suicide, Robin Williams' widow told People magazine the actor was struggling with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). Susan Williams claimed that was what killed her husband, not his reported depression.

"Depression was one of let's call it 50 symptoms and it was a small one," she told PeopleShe claimed Robin's LBD symptoms were "debilitating." She added that she wanted to talk about his experience with LBD to raise awareness of the disease that affects more than one million Americans over the age of 50.

"One of the doctors said, 'Robin was very aware that he was losing his mind and there was nothing he could do about it,'" Susan Williams told People.
