Uber teams up with senior living communities to offer on-demand transportation

Many older adults depend on others for mobility, which is why Uber, a mobile on-demand transportation service, is teaming up with senior living facilities across the nation to make getting around easier.

At the White House Conference on Aging this week, Uber announced its plan to launch a pilot program that will offer free technology tutorials and free rides at select retirement communities and senior centers.

"Senior riders find Uber to be an easy-to-use, safe, and affordable way to get around," Uber wrote in a press release. "To further meet this need, Uber is establishing partnerships with local senior advocates, organizations, and municipalities around the country."

Uber has already launched this pilot in Columbus, Austin, Tucson, Phoenix, and Ventura County, California.
