Princeton, N.J.-based Derma Sciences has presented clinical evidence to introduce the benefits of its advanced wound care products for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. The supporting studies were presented at the Fall 2014 Symposium on Advanced Wound Care held in Las Vegas.
Both the TCC-EZ and AMNIOEXCEL product lines, which focus on tissue regeneration, were cited in seven studies showing the effectiveness of these products in treating diabetic foot ulcers. These ulcers, which develop in nearly 25 percent of those with diabetes, are potentially life-threatening and sometimes can lead to amputations.
"Our portfolio has the most comprehensive line of evidence-based technologies across the continuum of care, providing clinicians with valuable integrated solutions to help remove barriers to healing, leading to better wound management and tissue repair," said Barry Wolfenson, group president of advanced wound care and pharmaceutical development, in a press release.
