Speech therapy app among AARP tech winners

This year’s AARP Health Innovation@50+ LivePitch awards included a start-up company that has developed a mobile speech therapy app to help improve brain function in those who have suffered a stroke or brain injury or who are living with dementia.

The solution from Newton, Mass.-based Constant Therapy uses an analytics engine to create personalized exercises that can be used to improve cognitive functions, language and learning skills while measuring the user's progress.

With a library of more than 58 science-based task categories and more than 15,000 exercises, the solution monitor's the user's speech improvements and automatically assigns new individualized tasks based on performance.
