mmLearn.org expands healthcare training video collection

mmLearn.org tracked the trends and listened to users.

The Web-based video training company will add learning modules on safe food handling, medication expiration and labels, food expiration, infection control in the home, awareness of fraud or abuse, family dynamics, communication techniques and ways to detect issues that should be reported to families or supervisors.

The nonprofit company announced it will soon add 12 video presentations. mmLearn.org will start offering bundles for home healthcare agencies that can be used for training and continuing education.

"Caregiving employees need channels for instruction even if it is not mandated by federal or state regulations," says Maria Wellisch, vice president of corporate education at mmLearn.org in a press release. "Providing opportunities to learn and develop skills ensures that caregivers are given the tools they need to successfully deliver quality care."

The bundles include video and resources on topics such as dementia care, hoarding, infection control, safe transfers, confidentiality, dehydration, hearing loss, oral health and engaging seniors in the home. mmLearn.org will also provide testing materials so organizations can assess employee understanding and comprehension, which may also be used to help comply with current industry regulations.

Since 2006, mmLearn.org has produced more than 300 videos in-house, most of which are free to access and can be viewed on demand anytime from anywhere.
