Shopping for good

One resale boutique in Charlottesville, Virginia, is making shopping even more fun.

Twice is Nice has pledged $125,000 toward the renovation of Mountainside Senior Living, which is retrofitting its third floor as a memory care unit.

The resale shop is also a nonprofit and uses sales revenue from donated clothing, accessories, furniture and housewares to support the aging population with medical equipment and supplies as well as help providing affordable housing, essential care and services for low-income seniors.

“For over two decades, our upscale boutique in Preston Plaza has assisted our community’s aging population, and more specifically, years of financial support to Mountainside Senior Living,” says Gordon Walker, Twice is Nice Board President in a press release. “The growing need for dementia care in our community needs to be addressed. And we are happy to be able to help.”

Mountainside’s 20-bed Blue Ridge Neighborhood is expected to open in February 2018.
