Eldermark introduces mobile-based nurse call system

Minneapolis-based Eldermark Software has introduced a new mobile-based nurse call and communications system called Notify. The system handles all communication, and can replace paper-based messaging, cell phones, pagers and walkie talkies, according to a press release.

Notify works online and offline with Apple, Microsoft and Android devices. It also integrates with other Eldermark software.

Here's how it works: When a nurse call occurs, all on-duty caregivers receive a page to the mobile device, even if it is off. Facility managers are then able to assess individual responses and facility performance and create data metrics that can be helpful in monitoring and resident/family communication.

“This is an important product for us,” said Eldermark President Craig Patnode in the press release. “As we continue to move the industry toward a common database of virtual personal health records, the data from Notify will help complete the resident’s record.”
