Canadian wellness program targets seniors’ dental health

A $20,000 community wellness grant from the Saskatoon Health Region in Canada enables a pilot dental health project for seniors and adults in long term care facilities to hire an oral health coordinator. The person will work with residents, staff, and family members to ensure daily oral practices are completed.

The pilot program, which focuses on prevention and wellness and was announced this week, supports two makeshift dental offices at Sherbrooke Community Centreand Parkridge Centre in the Saskatoon Health Region.
