Autumn Leaves launches music experience program at 40 memory care sites

Senior Living provider Autumn Leaves has launched a new music-based memory care program across all 40 of its memory care communities. The program, “So Much More To Experience,” was created with the help of the Dallas-based Music is Our Weapon organization and combines individualized music playlists with outings to experience live music.

“The connection between music and memory is a strong one,” said Clair Jameson, Autumn Leaves Life Engagement Director, in a release announcing the launch. “Hearing a song can transport a person back decades in a single instant. Music is associated with real feelings and milestones in life, and for a person with dementia, music can trigger memory as well as help them reconnect and engage with the world again.”

The program debuted at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, along with live musical performances to celebrate the partnership between the senior living provider and Music is Our Weapon.

Autumn Leaves is based in Irving, Texas, and operates in seven states.
