AAHSA No More: LeadingAge Name Official

The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) officially changed its name on Tuesday to LeadingAge. The new handle was originally announced last summer when the organization’s members voted in approval.

The LeadingAge name was the result of a study including member input about the association’s core principles. Research showed members wanted the association to be a strong voice for not-for-profit organizations.

“Our restated mission is Expanding the World of Possibilities for Aging,” according to a LeadingAge member message. “With our new name comes a new promise: Inspire. Serve. Advocate. It's a promise embedded in who we are and what we do.”

Other name changes occurred as well. The Institute for the Future of Aging Services is now the Leading Age Center for Applied Research, and the Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) is now the LeadingAge Center for Aging Services Technologies.
