n an effort to care for the growing number of northern New Jersey residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, CareOne opened Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus last week, according to Return on Information - New Jersey.
“With the increasing demand for new and progressive care options for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, our goal is to provide a safe and engaging assisting living community that reflects the high standard of care that CareOne has become known for,” CareOne Chairman and CEO Daniel Straus said in a release.
More than 5 million Americans (including 170,000 New Jersey residents) are currently living with Alzheimer’s, and as many as 15 million (including 210,000 New Jersey residents) expected to be affected by the disease by the year 2050.
The center has 124 private one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments, each with its own private living room. The company said it will offer innovative memory-care programs designed to help residents maintain the highest possible quality of life, as well as optimal cognitive and physical functioning, the company said.
